Festive events in the Gold Coast Hinterland

The Council Christmas trees are going up and the storms are rumbling – it’s starting to feel a bit merry!

It’s a busy time of year for events, and we’ve rounded up a list of what not to miss in the hinterland this festive season.

Christmas movie under the stars

Saturday 23 November 6pm at Kingsmore Park, Reedy Creek

Kids’ activities, face painting, and food trucks will commence from 6pm. ‘Elf’ will be screened from 7pm.

Bring your picnic rug and enjoy a cosy night under a blanket of stars.

Christmas in the park

Saturday 30 November 9am-11am at Davenport Park, Bonogin

Kahlee Townsend and team are at it again, with a jumping castle, face painting, coffee van, sausage sizzle, and a visit from Santa to celebrate the end of the year.

Cost: free (but buy your own food and drink)

Christmas Music in the Village

Wednesday 4 December 6:30pm-8pm at Cuddihy Park, Mudgeeraba

Join the Mudgeeraba Lions, Hinterland Community Band, and SonyQ Edge choir for an evening of Christmas Carols in the heart of the charming Mudgeeraba Village.

Night in Bethlehem

Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 December 3pm-8pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mudgeeraba

A popup village and musical nativity recreating the feel of what it was like in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth.

Mudgeeraba Village Markets

Sunday 8 December 9am-1pm at Mudgeeraba Memorial Hall

Christmas Carols on the Green

Friday 13 December 6:30pm-8pm

Local Christmas Crooner Charlie Mitchell and the Project Swing band will be bringing a medley of Christmas cheers to the Mudgeeraba Village. There may even be a special visit from Santa!

Kids Christmas Market

Sunday 15 December 10am-12pm at Ingles Park, Tallai

The budding entrepreneurs of the hinterland are looking forward to selling their wares and making some Christmas cash.  Come and grab a unique gift.

Twilight Christmas Markets

Sunday 22 December 3pm-8pm at Mudgeeraba Showgrounds

The iconic showgrounds will be decked out in all things Christmas. Grab a Christmassy bite to eat while you complete some last-minute shopping.

Christmas Carols

Sunday 22 December from 4pm at Mudgeeraba Uniting Church

The annual Uniting Church Christmas Carols and nativity play are a Christmas institution and always entertain!

Rural Fire Brigade Santa Runs

Tuesday 24 December at various parks across the hinterland
