As the year comes to a close, Lives Lived Well celebrates 50 years of supporting individuals on the Gold Coast through Mirikai, a renowned residential rehabilitation service.
Founded in 1981 by the Gold Coast Drug Council, Mirikai has grown from a small brick house into a vital hub for substance use recovery.
Why It Matters?
This milestone reflects five decades of transformative impact, providing hope and practical solutions for individuals facing substance use challenges.
The enduring presence of Mirikai underscores its critical role in the community.
By the Numbers
276 people received support through Mirikai’s residential rehabilitation program in 2023–2024, with a 95% average bed occupancy rate.
From January to June 2024, 96% of clients reported improved quality of life, and 98% reduced substance use within three months.
A Patient Experience Survey highlighted 97.6% satisfaction, with an average service rating of 4.65 out of 5.
