After becoming a hit in Leeds, Get Baked is branching out.
To celebrate, Get Baked is dishing out one of its most coveted slices of 24-layer chocolate cake.
It will open for a soft launch next Friday, March 14 from midday until 10pm.
But on Saturday, March 15, the team will also be giving away 1,000 free slices of chocolate cake from 12pm.
Get Baked posted to Facebook last night to spread the word.
A representative said: “Nothing destroys a brand new team like 1,000 people all at once.
“Go hard or go home. Or even better, go harder and then go home. In tatters.
“No purchase necessary, although I’d much rather you did. Free slices will be strictly limited to 1 per customer.”
The new bakery will look over Stevenson Square from a corner unit and join a variety of popular restaurants and bars in the Northern Quarter.
Not only will the bakery stay open late, it’ll offer goods on Deliveroo.
People have travelled from far and wide to visit the original Get Baked in Headingley.
This is where the now “retired” viral “Bruce” cake was first made.
The towering 12 chocolate layered cake set social media users wild after its launch in 2021.
However, it was recently replaced with the popular “Bertha”.
Weighing more than 1kg and costing £17 a slice, the Bertha allegedly sells out each week.
For those coming by next week, as well as trying to nab free cake, they can expect a daily menu of sweet treats at the Headingley outpost.
Including a range of between 10-12 pies, brownies, cookies and muffins as well as the legendary Bertha cake.
Hundreds of fans have taken to Facebook to express their excitement.
One person said: “Love this place.”
Another fan tagged a friend and asked: “How long have I waited tho?”
“Forever”, replied the friend.
“Get me here” the tagger added.
Meanwhile another fan said: ” Unreal place, can’t wait.”
Followed by another keen bean: ” We should go, I’ll queue up at 7am when I get to work.”
