World’s richest tennis player to inherit $76M superyacht with swimming pool and sauna

Jessica Pegula has never won a Grand Slam title, but the American is still one of the most successful and richest players on the WTA Tour thanks to her billionaire father

While many tennis stars enjoy a touch of luxury, Jessica Pegula’s retirement could elevate her to unprecedented heights of opulence. The 31 year old American player, yet to secure a Grand Slam title, boasts an impressive net worth of $15 million.

But it’s the vast wealth she stands to inherit from her father, Terry Pegula—a petroleum mogul valued at a hefty $7 billion by Forbes and ranked as the world’s 373rd richest individual—that promises to place her in a different league of affluence.

Terry Pegula, aged 73, not only heads an extensive business empire but is also the proud owner of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and NHL’s Buffalo Sabres. Additionally, he owns the remarkable $76M superyacht ‘Top Five II’—a name that nods to his intention of passing down the vessel to his five children.

This 61-meter embodiment of extravagance comes with amenities including a swimming pool, barbecue area, jacuzzi, sauna, fire pit, and five generously proportioned cabins.

Throughout her career in tennis, Jessica has diligently worked to establish her own identity, consciously avoiding reliance on her father’s renown or riches. Despite this mindset, she does occasionally delight in certain lush advantages—the family’s private jet being one prime example, reports the Irish Star.

In a grand gesture of camaraderie and charm, following her triumph at the ATX Open in Austin, Texas, Pegula extended the luxury of the private jet to fellow players for their journey to the next competition in Indian Wells, California.

Yuan Yue was among the fortunate athletes invited aboard and couldn’t contain her gratitude, expressing it through a gleeful social media post: “Praise Miss Pegula. Okay! ! !”.

Yue commended her gracious opponent, saying: “She has invited all the players in today’s game (doubles final) to take a private plane together. Thank you so much! ! ! Otherwise, we would all have been on the road for at least nine hours tomorrow. Oh my God, how can there be such a beautiful lady?”.

Zhang Shuai, Yue’s doubles partner, also expressed her gratitude online. “@jpegula offering everyone who playing at the Sunday final to join her private jet, you know she can leave away right after her singles final, but she is such a selfless and generous girl. This message is NOT to show I took the jet, just wanted to appreciate and transferring the love.”

Despite frequently being labelled as the wealthiest tennis player in the world, Pegula has continually disproven any sceptics questioning her motivation for triumph. The New York native boasts seven singles titles under her belt while yearning for a major victory.

Her most promising run was during last year’s US Open when she reached the finals, only to be defeated by Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets. Prior to this, Pegula had reached the quarter-finals stage at Grand Slams six times over the past four years, without progressing further.
