Urgent concerns raised for man’s welfare after going missing in Scots city

Police have launched a search for 55-year-old John Johnston.

Concerns have quickly been raised after a man was reported missing from a Scots city earlier today.

John Johnston, 55, was last seen in Dunfermline, Fife, on April 25. It is believed he was in the Broomhead Drive area at around 5pm.

Police have said concerns have been growing for his welfare, and are appealing for the help of the public to share any information which may help to trace him.

He is described as white, of a medium build and around 5ft 8ins, with greying brown hair, a beard and moustache.

It is unknown what clothing he may be wearing.

Inspector Claire Chrystal said: “We are asking anyone who has seen John or knows where he might be to get in touch.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2678 of Friday, 25 April, 2025.
