A desperate appeal has been launched after a dog was stolen from a property in the Highlands.
Cops have launched a hunt to trace Skye – an 18 month old border collie who was snatched from a property in Berridale, Caithness overnight on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4.
Skye is described is mainly black with white patches on her nose, neck, chest and feet. She is not chipped and does not have a collar.
Police shared an appeal on social media to help trace the missing animal with some users describing her theft as “heartbreaking.”
One concerned person commented: “So sad and cruel to steal a dog,I pray she’s found soon, and gets back to were she belongs..”
Whilst another added: “This is heartbreaking. These criminals have no thought whatsoever what trauma they are causing the poor pup.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information after Skye – an 18 month old border collie was stolen from a property in Berriedale, Caithness some time between the evening of Monday 03 March and Tuesday 04 March 2025. Skye is mainly black with white patches on her nose, neck, chest and feet. She is not chipped and does not have a collar.
“If you have any information that you believe may assist our enquiries, please contact us either online or through 101 quoting crime reference CR/0085724/25.”
