The Swedish furniture giant launched the offer to celebrate the opening of its new Oxford Street location.

Until May 5, Ikea family members can enjoy several discounted meatball or plantball meals from 11am to close.

These include the eight-piece meatball meal, eight meatballs & chips, eight-piece plant ball meal or eight plantballs & chips for £1.

The children’s meatball meal and children’s plantball meal have also been cut – and going for just 50p during the same time period.

The offer is available at the following Ikea stores: Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Gateshead, Glasgow, Greenwich, Hammersmith, Lakeside, Leeds, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Reading, Sheffield, Southampton, Warrington and Wembley.

It is not available at Ikea Oxford Street itself.

The deal is only available in the restaurant – not the café, bistro, or Swedish food market.

You’ll need to show your Ikea Family membership to claim the offer.

The Swedish chain bought the seven-floor site in London’s Oxford Street in 2021.

The retailer announced in Autumn 2023 that it would be opening on May 1, 2025.

On Thursday, shoppers will be able to set foot in the beautiful Grade II listed building, which has been completely renovated.

It comes as IKEA shoppers have voiced their anger over a big change made to the brand’s menu.

Shoppers could previously pick up a pot of its iconic meatballs with jam from food counters.

The counters are handily placed near the checkouts, offering tired shoppers a quick bite before they head off with their new purchases.

But fans hoping for a quick cup of meatballs before hitting the road have been left disappointed – the popular snack has been pulled from the bistro menu.

One customer wrote on the social media platform Reddit: “Went for a hotdog and a pot of meatballs at the bistro. They have stopped selling them. WTAF.

“Apparently you can only buy them as a meal in the restaurant now. Who has time for a sit down meal when doing diy etc.

“I have also lost my bargaining chip with the missus of ‘we can get some meatballs on the way out.'”

More fans have noticed the change on X and asked for meatballs to return to bistros.
