The Addie, as it’s known locally, offers beer and wine, of course, and good food at reasonable prices (though Orwell wasn’t a big food man: he wouldn’t have gone for the pub’s Buttermilk Chicken Burger with avo smash, chips and coleslaw. He’s more of a pork bangers and mash kind of guy.)
