At around 9pm last night, April 15, police received a report that the 47-year-old victim was attacked at a property in Lochaber Drive.

A woman was seriously assaulted in a “targeted attack” that also saw her dog injured in Rutherglen.

At around 9pm last night, April 15, police received a report that the 47-year-old victim was attacked at a property in Lochaber Drive.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

The dog was treated by a vet and released.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are gathering relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area.

The investigation so far has established that a white, medium-sized Kia car stopped outside the house prior to the incident.

A man was seen getting out of the passenger side.

Police are now appealing for relevant dash-cam footage from the nearby roads.

Detective Constable Debbie Walker said: “This was a terrifying event and it is imperative we trace those responsible, however there is not believed to be any risk to the wider public.

“I am asking people with information to contact us. If you have dash-cam from Lochaber Drive and the surrounding area around 9pm, please check the footage as it could have captured vital images which could assist us in identifying those responsible for this attack.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3517 of Tuesday, April 15.
